Teen & Adolescent Services

Adolescence brings unique emotional, social, academic, and family challenges, and having the right support can make a meaningful difference. JRS Counseling Services provides a supportive environment where teens and adolescents can strengthen coping skills, better understand their emotions, improve relationships, and build confidence as they navigate this important stage of development. Individual therapy and group sessions are available, allowing young people to receive personalized support while also benefiting from connection, skill-building, and shared experiences with their peers.

TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) helps teens and adolescents understand and process difficult or traumatic experiences in a safe, supportive environment. Treatment builds healthy coping skills, strengthens emotional regulation, and helps young people move forward without allowing past experiences to define their future.

Emotional Regulation

Emotional regulation therapy helps teens better understand, express, and manage intense emotions such as anger, anxiety, frustration, and sadness. Through practical coping strategies, adolescents learn to respond to difficult situations in healthier ways and build greater confidence and self-control.

Social Skills & Executive Functioning

Social skills and executive functioning support helps teens strengthen communication, organization, problem-solving, time management, and decision-making skills. These practical tools can improve relationships, academic functioning, independence, and the ability to successfully navigate everyday responsibilities.

OCD (Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder)

OCD treatment helps teens understand the cycle of intrusive thoughts, anxiety, and compulsive behaviors while developing healthier ways to respond to discomfort and uncertainty. Using evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), adolescents gradually build confidence in facing fears without relying on compulsions or reassurance.
